The Demolition of "Merafield Bridge" on the A38 dual carriageway just outside of Plymouth. We're here for the demolition of the old bridge. The bridges suffered some structural defects so they decided to take it away.

The bridge has become weak over the over time and it's got to be replaced. All the bridges are all a challenge. We're on a very tight time frame and the road's got to open. The traveling public wants the road by 10 o'clock.

This old-fashioned bridge is being upgraded to a more modern two-lane structure, and our job is to remove the old bridge. So our plan is to cut one end free from the far side of the bank supported on a barge which is floating in the river. The other end is on land. We're going to then drag the whole bridge ashore.
